The Texola One Room Jail stands as a charming oddity nestled along the iconic Route 66. Erected from sturdy cinder blocks towards the tail end of the 19th century, this structure comprises a solitary chamber accessible through a stout iron-barred doorway. Within, visitors encounter an ambiance enhanced by an additional iron-barred window, while historical displays regale tales of infamous outlaws. Outside, a whimsically positioned tombstone-like monument commemorates the class of 1938 from the local high school, adding to the site's peculiar allure.
Das Texola One Room Jail steht als charmante Kuriosität entlang der ikonischen Route 66. Errichtet aus robusten Ziegelsteinen gegen Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts, besteht diese Struktur aus einer einzelnen Kammer, die durch eine robuste eisenverriegelte Tür zugänglich ist. Im Inneren erleben Besucher eine Atmosphäre, die durch ein zusätzliches eisenverriegeltes Fenster verstärkt wird, während historische Ausstellungen Geschichten berühmter Gesetzloser erzählen. Draußen erinnert ein skurril platziertes, grabsteinähnliches Denkmal an die Abschlussklasse von 1938 der örtlichen High School und trägt zur eigenartigen Anziehungskraft des Ortes bei.
